Here is an example of Data Stringing.
The Norwegian freighter that August 31, 2001, was holding of Christmas Island with 400 plus refugees is an excellent place to apply a Data String
The hardest part of Data Stringing is getting accurate data that can be cross referenced to astrological planetary positions.
Here are the facts with some important pieces uncertain but it is enough to lay out the pattern.
A Norwegian freighter leaves Norway and travels south.
A refugee boat with 400 plus people leaves Indonesia and heads for Australia .
The refugee boat sinks and the Norwegian boat picks up the refugees.
The Norwegian boat heads for Indonesia but the refugees force it to head for Australian land i.e. Christmas Island .
Australia refuses to let the Norwegian ship disembark.
The saga continues.
Here are the Data String points for chart construction.
Note when I below say "date" that means accurate date, time and location.
Date Norwegian boat leaves port.
Date refugee boat leaves port.
Date refugee boat sinks.
Date refugees are picked up by Norwegian boat.
Date Norwegian boat heads for Indonesia .
Date Norwegian boat reverses course and heads for Christmas Island .
Date Norwegian boat requests permission to land refugees.
Date Australia refuses to let refugees land.
An Astrological chart is now done for each of these dates. Each chart will contain planetary Interaction via Exactitudes.
One planet will stand out. It will be interacted via exactitude by other planets to become the Planetary Pattern.
The planet may be Neptune and each chart will have an interaction to Neptune . When you have the link up of Neptune interaction to other planets and events in the story you can then move forward to the future Neptune interaction to find the resolution to the event.
Further charts can be added by Progressing the start points for both boats and then a new Progression starting at the date when the refugees joined the Norwegian boat
Lots of charts but by using Exactitudes these charts become one continuous flowing story joined by Data Stringing.

Question: What is a station.?
Answer: A station is where via apparent motion a planet changes direction. The exact moment of stop or start is the station. As a planet approaches or leaves a station it is at its slowest daily motion. It slows to the station and gains momentum as it leaves the station. A retrograde station is the place and time where a planet stops and reverses its motion through the Zodiac. A direct station is where a planet stops its reverse motion and resumes its forward motion through the Zodiac.

Question: How long does it take to become an Astrologer?
Answer: The quick answer is 15 years. In 5 years many think they understand astrology and in rare cases that is true. In 10 years what you knew in the first 5 years takes on a whole new perspective. By 15 years the book learning has sunk in, the personal experience is real and the ability to think astrology should have started. Astrology is a series of doors. You can knock and knock until one day it opens and a whole new understanding of astrology floods in. For some only a few doors open for others many. I have called myself and astrologer for 40 years and doors are still opening and on some I am still knocking.

Question: Do you believe our lives are "set"?
Answer: This takes us into fate and free will. The motions of the planets are set. It is set that planets will interact with certain places on earth at specific times. It is set that our individual planetary makeup will interact to certain planetary patterns a set way. Where we are on earth will determine our interaction with a moment. How we react will be greatly influenced by our astrological makeup but ultimately it will be us who decides on a moment. If as we have traveled through life we have picked up baggage due to unwise decisions then future decisions can be more difficult. The astrological pattern can say it is raining it is your choice how you confront the rain. There will be times when your choices are very limited while at other times you have many options.

Question Part One: I have a question about an astrology book I just bought "The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need, CD-rom Edition" by Joanna Martine Woolfolk, Now I've tried to cast my own chart according to the book which is the Equal house system but the chart in the book does not contain the area I was born in which is Prince Rupert, B.C so I don't know if the CD calculation is accurate enough for me to use to find out my Ascendant sign? On the cd rom it says that my Ascendant sign is Scorpio ( Natal ) Which is the Placidus ( Or Placidian ) house system. How do I know if this is correct for me to use to cast my own chart?
Answer Part One: A Rising Sign or Ascendant (ASC) is the eastern point on an astrological chart that is touching the First House Cusp. The Rising Sign is calculated using time, place and date. It is very sensitive to time and place as the Rising Sign changes one Zodiacal Sign every 2 hours (1 degree every 4 minutes, 30 degrees to a Sign). I am not familiar with the book you mention or how they are allowing you to input data. For Prince Rupert , BC the latitude is 54N17 and the longitude is 130W23. For a Prince Rupert time date place the Rising Sign might be 05Virgo04. Change the place to Prince George , BC 53N53 122W41 and the Rising Sign would be 10Virgo10. Change the place to Vancouver , BC 49N16 123W07 and the Rising Sign would be 08Virgo39. As you can see it is the longitude that causes the most change. Quite likely the book you have has given you a calculation for Vancouver so if you subtract 3 degrees and 35 minutes from your Vancouver Rising Sign you should have a fairly accurate Rising Sign for Prince Rupert . Remember that the minutes are like a clock so 1 degree = 60 minutes.

Question Part Two: On the CD it says that my Ascendant sign is Scorpio ( Natal ) Which is the Placidus ( Or Placidian ) house system. How do I know if this is correct for me to use to cast my own chart?
Answer Part Two: The Placidus house system that you are using will make no difference to the calculation of the Rising Sign. The house systems Placidus, Koch, Equal or other will determine how the other house cusps are calculated. The first house cusp is the Rising Sign and is a constant but the second, third etc houses can be different according to the house system you use. The different house systems may place a planet in a different house example one system may have mars in the second house while another has it in the third house. Usually the variance is just one house but it can be more.
August 19, 2007
There are several House Systems in use in Astrology. The most popular are Placidus, Koch and Equal. I originally started out using Placidus mostly because it was what everyone else used and the intercepted houses that Placidus produced added one more element to make a chart unique. Placidus due to the way it is calculated especially at the more northern or southern latitudes produces intercepted houses. That means that a house may hold a different sign at each cusp and a full sign squeezed in-between that is called an intercepted house. An example could be the second house cusp is 15 Taurus and the third house cusp is 15 Cancer. Gemini then becomes the intercepted sign. So to be clear in our example the second house will hold 15 degrees of Taurus, 30 degrees of Gemini and 15 degrees of Cancer. The eighth house that is the opposite of the second will also be intercepted and hold the opposite signs 15 degrees of Scorpio, 30 degrees of Sagittarius, and 15 degrees of Capricorn.

After using Placidus for many years I switched to the Koch house system. It has no intercepted houses and gives a much more open and less cluttered chart especially when using computer generated charts. Yes the intercepted house gives more to work with but I now prefer a Koch style of planet disbursement. Equal house is the most basic of house systems. I know astrologers who after 40 years of work still prefer the simplicity of the Equal house system. With Equal house every house cusp is the same as the Ascendant thus each house is equally spaced at 30 degrees per house. Koch may have more or less than 30 degrees per house while the Placidus system as in our example above can have 60 degrees. There are only 360 degrees in the chart and if one house has 60 degrees another might only have 10. The Koch House system is a good balance between Placidus and Equal.

For those that read the piece on General Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan and his Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and their strong Saturn - Capricorn struggle for power. Chaudhry is now back as Chief Justice and his courts have ruled (Sun 28 Virgo 41, Saturn 28 Virgo 41) that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who was ousted from power by Musharraf in a bloodless coup can come back to Pakistan from exile and run in the elections against Musfarraf. A true political power race for Saturn - Capricorn control.

I have recently been reading Path of the Pole by Charles Hapgood. Although not a new book originally written in 1969 the theory and premise holds true. He puts forward that the poles have been in several different parts of the world other than the Artic and Antarctica . He says that the poles do not move but that the earth’s crust moves thus placing different land masses over the polar region. He goes on to explain how this caused ice ages in various parts of Earth.

It seems that there is a strong planetary pattern forming with Neptune Venus and Jupiter in October. I have taken it to a local level October 29, 2007, 8:30 AM, Vancouver , British Columbia , Canada that brings a lot of energies to play at one time.
Neptune 19 Aquarius 15 Retrograde
Venus 19 Virgo 22
Jupiter 19 Sagittarius 09
Sun 05 Scorpio 49
Saturn 06 Virgo 17
North Node 05 Virgo 01 Retrograde
South Node 05 Pisces 01 Retrograde
Moon 24 Gemini 21
Mercury 24 Libra 25 Retrograde
MC 24 Leo 00
Mars 10 Cancer 37
Chiron 10 Aquarius 31
ASC 10 Scorpio 49
This will play out around the world for the most part the same but local factors like the Moon MC and ASC will differ in their timings due to differing time zones. Bottom line from October 28 to 30, 2007 any where in the world will feel the touch down of these energies.
