Each Zodiacal Sign can be split into Decans for more insight into the subtle differences between people born under a Zodiacal Sign. It is interesting to note that the more this 2008 US Election race continues the conversation is now swinging to the importance of the Vice Presidents. The political media pundits started by saying it does not matter who the VP would be now they are saying it is a live or die choice. They finally have it right.

August 7, 2008 

It seems the polls in the US Election 2008 are not showing Obama way ahead and that has the media pundits scratching their heads. The average poll numbers look like this at the moment. McCain 49%, Obama 45% and undecided at 6%. When back in January I calculated the chances between Obama and McCain I came out in favor of McCain saying he could beat either Hilary Clinton or Barack Obama in a one on one. The timing that I was using for that result was the Democrat and Republican Conventions. I have now recalculated the charts for the November 2008 election date and a couple of new factors immerge. Each candidate via Progression has picked up some extra strength with Obama (view chart) getting more than McCain (view chart) but still not quite enough to beat McCain one on one. The final percentages in a one on one race for the November 2008 election will be McCain 51% and Obama 49%. The Vice President pick for Obama is vital.

Since I have McCain at 51% and Obama at 49% let's split the undecided proportionate with each candidates polling and the polls would show McCain 52.5% and Obama 47.5%. Close enough for poles and the arbitrary call of a proportional split on the undecided. Again the Vice Presidents are going to add much new color to this race.

August 12, 2008 

Russia has invaded Georgia or Georgia has invaded South Ossetia and Russia has come to the South Ossetia's aid. Whoever you believe, Georgia President Mikheil Saakashivilli (view chart) born December 21, 1967 (time unknown) in Tbilisi Georgia is at least responsible for the moment that started all of this when he sent tanks into South Ossetia. Saakashivilli is a 29 degree Sagittarius firmly on the Capricorn cusp. Although there is no birth time for him it is certain that he will have a Leo Moon. His Sun is 28sagittarius48, Uranus 29Virgo08, and Saturn 05Aries47, Jupiter 05Virgo50. It is clear that he thought the time was right to make an aggressive move for political enhancement. His Sagittarius Sun gambled. His Aquarius Mars was solidly behind his thinking especially in line with his Sun Capricorn Cusp. All his Virgo said the facts are right and even now as he is cornered his style is to list the facts. It is possible that he was given the green light by the USA expecting some Russian reaction that would trigger a Polish reaction and a signing in Warsaw that will now allow USA missiles closer to Russia.

In Pakistan the Capricorn Narwaz Sharif who Parvez Musharraf would not let stand for election has his ducks in a row and is taking a run at impeaching Parvez Musharraf. You can bet that the other Capricorn deposed by Musharraf Supreme Court Judge Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and the lawyers are also pushing for impeachment. Here it will be a matter of wills the staying power of Leo Musharraf against the closing power of the Capricorns. I will continue to go with Musharraf saying that a Leo leader is very hard to remove but this will be his greatest battle yet.

In Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe has been playing more games by pretending to hold joint power sharing talks with Morgan Tsvangirai (view chart) born March 10, 1952 (time unknown) Gutu area , Zimbabwe, who is foolish enough to keep playing games with Mugabe who is making up all the rules. Although both men a Sun in Pisces their Saturns tell the tale as Tsvangirai has Saturn in Libra and his thinking is that he can negotiate his way to power while Mugabe has his Saturn in Scorpio retrograde and he will kill for power. Mugabe latest move is to declare the talks non productive and then to suspend all travel documents for Morgan Tsvangirai. I think we can expect to hear about the death of Morgan Tsvangirai soon as Mugabe gets tired of the games and becomes more brutal.

It looks like Hilary Clinton is taking the race for the nomination right to the convention floor after all. She is having her name placed in nomination. Although some see this as a normal thing perhaps it is and perhaps it isn't. I never expected Hilary and her Scorpio sun to go quietly and perhaps she will not be as noble as expected.

Well it looks like Pervez Musharraf has resigned as president in rather than go through an impeachment process. It took a strong hit from Saturn and its earthly counterparts Capricorn to make this happen. Is he totally finished with politics? Perhaps and perhaps not. Pervez says he resigned for the good of the nation and the army gave him an honor parade as he left office but……never say never with Leo Pervez Musharraf. On August 18 2008 when Pervez resigned transiting Saturn was 09Virgo49 and in his natal chart Mercury 09Virgo24 and Jupiter 09Leo05. In Pervez's natal chart Saturn 23Gemini37 and Mars 22Taurus31 while in the August 18, 2008 transiting chart Neptune 22Aquarius46 retrograde and Uranus 21Pisces40 retrograde. In a chart for Pervez progressed to August 18, 2008 the 9 degree mark is strong with Venus 09Virgo53, Pluto 08Leo36 and Uranus 08Gemini28 retrograde it also shows the 21 degree mark as strong with progressed Sun 21Libra03, Jupiter21Leo54 and Mars 21Gemini04.

Under the Pakistan Constitution after the President steps down there must be an election for a new President within 30 days so September 6 has been picked. The two main players will be Asif Zardari (husband of assassinated Benazir Bhutto) of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Narwaz Sharif (past president deposed by Pervez Musharrif in a coup) of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N). There will be other political parties involved and we will track them if possible. There are two main issues "Control" and "Pakistan Democracy". The "Control" issue is represented by Capricorn Narwaz Sharif who (1) wants to put Pervez Musharrif on trial and (2) wants to reinstate the judges now thus getting Capricorn Chief Justice Chaudhry on his side. The "Pakistan Democracy" issue is represented by Asif Zardari who (1) wants to pardon Pervez Musharrif and (2) wants the people to speak before reinstating the judges thus giving democracy a voice.

On December 2, 3, and 4, 2007 in this blog and the Politics Section there is a brake down of Narwaz Sharif's ( born December 25, 1948, Lahore, Pakistan no time available) political strengths. He is a Capricorn with Jupiter, Mercury, and Mars in Capricorn. In his chart progressed to the election day Sept 6, 2008 even with no birth time it seems his Progressed moon is somewhere between 03Capricorn and 15Capricorn along with Jupiter 22Capricorn08 and Neptune 14Libra48 retrograde. This man wants it all and he will be the next president of baring assassinations.

Asif Zardari (born July 21, 1956, , no time available) is no slouch either. It is easy to see why Narwaz and Asif could not share power. Asif Zardari has Sun 28Cancer29 and Moon 11Capricorn (plus minus 6 degrees for no birth time) he also has asteroids Pallas and Hygeia in Capricorn and in Libra and asteroid Ceres in Aries. From a progressed point of view he picks up a little, Mercury in Libra, Neptune in Libra, asteroids Pallas and Hygeia in Capricorn and asteroid Ceres in Aries. There is no doubt that this man is a strong contender but Narwaz has just too much Capricorn on his side. Narwaz has natal Saturn in Virgo and Asif has natal Saturn in Scorpio so this should be a draw but there is one other factor here and that is Virgo. seems much influenced by Virgo and this can been seen in the correctness of its military. At the Election Day the Sun and Saturn will be in Virgo. In the Progressed chart of Narwaz he has Saturn in 02Virgo42 retrograde. In the Progressed chart of Asif he has Sun and Jupiter in Virgo. All this Virgo makes politics very complex and interesting.

Democrat Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has chosen Joe Biden (born November 20, 1942, 8:30 AM, EWT, Scranton, PA, USA) (view chart) to be his Vice President running mate. In what Barack Obama has called his first major decision on the road to the Presidency in my astrological opinion he has failed badly. The system that I use to arrive at the winners and losers is simple. Whoever has the most Zodiacal Cardinal Signs will win in the following order of strength. Capricorn, Cancer, Libra, Aries along with Saturn in a Cardinal sign. John McCain has picked Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin (view chart) born February 11, 1964 (no time available) Sandpoint, Idaho, as his Vice President. At first glance she is Sun in Aquarius and that is a great partnership with McCain's Virgo Sun for getting things done but when it comes to being elected President we have to look deeper to see if she will help McCain. I am sure that in a few days we will find a birth time for her but at the moment using 12 noon to split the error her Moon is at 01Aquarius47 so if she is born in the afternoon or evening then her Moon is Aquarius. If she is born between midnight and 8am she has a Capricorn Moon and that is a winner for John McCain. Putting the Moon aside she has Jupiter 16Aries40 and Venus 01Aries08 on a Pisces cusp, Mercury 01Aquarius20 on a Capricorn Cusp, Asteroid Vesta in Capricorn, South Node in Capricorn rx, and North Node in Cancer rx. Her Saturn is in Aquarius. Without the Moon she is stronger in electable strength than Joe Biden.

A chart for Sarah Palin progressed to November 8 2008 (view chart) adds some good strength that will keep her stronger than Joe Biden. Progressed Sun 06Aries56, progressed Mercury 20Aries49, progressed Jupiter 26Aries17, Progressed Mars 28Pisces32 just at the Aries Cusp, Asteroid Ceres 03Capricorn, South Node 06Capricorn40 rx and North Node 06 Cancer 40 rx. With just these factors she is just stronger than Joe Biden from a Progressed perspective. But if we can factor in the Moon with an early in the day birth she would have a Progressed Libra Moon and would be the outright winner between her and Joe Biden. Bottom line Sarah Palin (not counting her Moon) and John McCain will have more than enough to beat Barack Obama and Joe Biden. I will fine tune the numbers and work out the percentages, stay tuned.

Well it looks like John McCain has picked a winner in Sarah Palin not counting her Moon that at the moment is unknown she solidly beats Joe Biden. Since John McCain was already ahead of Barack Obama the next President of the USA will be Republican John McCain by a margin of 58% to 42%. If it turns out that Sarah Palin has a Capricorn Moon and a Progressed Libra Moon it will be a blowout for John McCain.
