What is
an astrologer? The answer is not simple as there
are many kinds of astrologers. Just as there are
many kinds of doctors from general practitioners
to specialists in many fields. The general
practitioner in astrology is the average person
who prepares and reads astrology charts. This
astrologer is the best known on a professional
level. They may give a simplistic view of the
chart or they may be at the very top of their
profession and give a highly detailed analysis.
The newspaper column writer is not really
thought of by the public as a professional.
Often the column writer is the writer of an
annual prediction book and this is their
constant focus. In truth it takes a professional
to be good at column or annual prediction
writing. Often an astrologer writes a horoscope
column to attract astrology chart reading
business.

There
are astrologers who write analysis columns. This
is where they take a subject or a person and
unfold events based on an astrological chart for
the situation or person. There are astrologers
who write books and go into great depth about a
particular part of astrology. There are the
teachers who bring along the interested and the
few who want to be a professional astrologer.
Each astrologer has one thing in common and that
is they are constantly watching the unfolding of
astrological events and looking to see how these
events interact with individuals.

There is
another type of astrologer who follows political
or worldly events to see how they play out
against the backdrop of astrology. This in part
is what I enjoy the most as it is a less
personal and less emotional approach. The
general practitioner is often swept up in the
emotion and dynamics of the chart they are
interpreting especially if they meet with the
person face to face. There is yet again another
type of astrologer and that is the theoretical
astrologer and I am one. This astrologer has
learnt enough of how astrology works to step to
the edge and say where is the tomorrow of
astrology where is its growth? Do we know
everything about astrology? Is astrology
changing? Often what worked and made sense for
one generation now needs to be updated and
brought in focus with today’s reality.

As followers
of this blog know by now I am interested in Pakistan
politics. Why? Several reasons; they are volatile
and colorful, the BBC News gives very good coverage
so the events are easy to follow, all of the players
usually have good birth information available and
last and perhaps the most important Purvaz Musharraf
is Leo who truly knows how to hold on to power. On
July 23, 2007 in this blog “Three Leo leaders who
were/are very good at holding on when the chips were
down were Bill Clinton, Slobodan Milosovic, and
Purvaz Musharraf.” I should have also added Fidel
Castro to this Leo Leader list. Once again Musharraf
has proven his ability to survive after being
elected President. Sure it is contested and there is
lots of controversy but he held on and continues to
do so.

Purvaz
Musharraf on October 11, 2007 as Mercury went
retrograde was interviewed by the BBC. He stated
that he had told Benazir Bhuttothat
he felt it would be best not to return to Pakistan
on October 18 as she has said she will do. Purvaz
advises that she wait.(see
September 29, 2007 this blog) earlier I stated that
I thought that due to Benazir’s strong Gemini
influence that the Mercury Retrograde would cause
perhaps a rethinking of the return time and said
that November 1, 2007 would be much better. This is
very interesting politics to see played out at least
from this astrologers’ point of view.

I think that
one other reason that the Pakistan politics is so
interesting to me is that it has a clear and easy
astrological flow. In an earlier blog on Data
Stringing (see blog August 4, 2007) it was pointed
out how once the pattern is found then all the data
strings in a sequence. In Pakistan it is as if all
the players wear their hearts on their astrological
sleeves. The next 30 day will play very strongly for
Benazir Bhutto.

A word
on Pakistan is appropriate. Benazir
Bhutto has returned to Pakistan to an assignation
attempt. Perhaps even if she had returned when there
was no Mercury retrograde there would have been an
assignation attempt but in any case, wrong place at
the wrong time. Bhutto is using the assignation
attempt to the political maximum claiming to be a
hero who will defy death. Purvaz Musharraf always
the Leo wanting to hold power has said that due to
the assignation attempt it is proof that the
elections should be delayed another year while he
stays on in power longer.

Another Leo
leader who is showing a dictatorial style is Hugo
Chavez born July 28, 1954, Sabaneta, Barines ,
Venezuela . He is almost in a partnership alliance
with Leo Fidel Castro. Chavez sees himself as the
new Castro style leader who will take on the USA . I
think the USA hoped he was to be a controllable or
short lived leader but not so. Hugo Chavez will be
around for a long time.

We are at
the Libra Scorpio cusp perhaps one of the easier
cusps to understand. If Libra is the decision and
Scorpio is what is desired we have a time or person
who while having the skills to decide also has a
glimpse of what the outcome of the decision will
look like. However since the person born at this
time is only half a Libra they will not be balanced
in a Libra sense. Their decision making processes
will be strongly influenced by the powerful emotion
of Scorpio. We are left with a balanced decision in
favor of Scorpio. A Libra who is not at this cusp
will strive for the well balanced decision in favor
of the decision, a path to open progress.

The Rising
Sign is always a place that most people want to
locate in their chart. The term Rising Sign although
correct is a bit loose in that it refers to a place
30 degrees in size. To be absolutely correct it
should be called the Rising Degree. Each day for a
very short while only 3 to 5 minutes in time a
specific degree of the Zodiac is rising. The Rising
Sign is easy for conversations to say I have a Leo
Rising Sign but you really have a specific degree
rising example 19 degrees of Leo Rising. The exact
degree is important as it is the exact moment of
“Eastrise” in your birth chart, the place that is
rising up from the dark to be the first moment of
physical light.

The Moon
Sign is also a place that most people want to locate
in their chart. Like the Rising Sign the Moon Sign
has a Moon Degree and this is the important factor.
Each month for only two hours the Moon occupies a
single degree. This degree will be a trigger
interactor within the chart. Just as the Rising
Degree showed us the first moment of physical
expression the Moon Degree shows us where the
emotions live. Each time the Moon receives an exact
angular interaction from another planet it is like
someone walking into your emotion home. Perhaps it
will just be a light in the window or a loud know at
the door or a shiver awaking a memory but you will
feel it somewhere – somehow.

That leaves
us with the Sun Sign and most people already know
where that is because the Sun spends one whole day
in one degree of a Zodiacal Sign. Most people do not
care what degree their Sun is in unless they are on
a cusp where the difference between 25 degrees of
Leo and 28 degrees of Leo is great as Virgo has
entered the equation at 28 degrees. The exact degree
of the Sun is very important for the same
interactions that affect the Rising Degree and Moon
Degree.
