Pakistan, says he will return to Pakistan from exile and
oppose Parvez Musharraf in the upcoming democratic elections.
Nawaz has Mars 21Capricorn50 while Parvez has Mars 22Taurus31.
Nawaz has Jupiter 08Capricorn49 and Parvez has Uranus
08Gemini31. Nawaz has Mercury at 10Capricorn32 while Parvez
has Mercury at 9Virgo24. These two have a lot that is
interacting. Nawaz has a lot of strong Capricorn making

Virgo
is the opposite sign to Pisces. Virgo is the clock
while Pisces is time. Virgo is the train while
Pisces is distance covered. Both Virgo and Pisces
are Mutable signs so they both are very flexible and
adaptable. However the Virgo will have trouble
changing when it goes against the facts and for
Pisces there are no facts just what is.

Astrology
has its history in many places. It is commonly
agreed that the Chaldeans who were pre Babylonian
were the first know to use astrology. They were
desert wonderers who saw importance when the Sun was
rising and when the Sun reached other positions in
the sky. They could often see a daytime moon. They
added these together. “When the Sun and the Moon
rise together such and such will happen, i.e. it’s a
new moon” They would have the clear desert night
skies and see the planets that rose after the Sun
set.

After the
Chaldeans astrology went traveling into India where
the Moon took on a stronger role and Vedic astrology
was created. Vedic astrology and western astrology
are both astrology but each system places more
importance on different things. Vedic is more
concerned with the path of the soul while Western
astrology is concerned with the path of the person.
Astrology traveled into Tibet where the astrology of
reincarnation was created. The Dali Lama is thought
to be the reincarnation of the previous Dali Lama.
The Tibetan Book of the Dead has a formula where
after death the soul will in about 40 days find a
new body and become reborn. The Tibetans go in
search for a person born on the 40th day (not quite
that simple but you get the idea) and say that is
the reincarnation of the last Dali Lama. When you
hear today that China has a challenger to the Dali
Lama it is because they picked a different person
than the Tibetans. The Chinese made a political
decision.

Astrology
traveled to China where the Chinese devised a system
using farm animals to correspond to a large
population of farmers who could easily relate. The
Chinese and Indian systems both use the Sidereal
Zodiacs while the Western system uses the Tropical
Zodiac. Along came the Greeks who modernized
astrology and for the most part are the creators of
western astrology. The church has never been a fan
of astrology as it allows for forces other than God
to be controlling events here on Earth.

many different peoples have tried to define
astrology and to show how it works the fact is that
astrology is cosmic interaction and that can flow
from a godhead. We can spend a life time explaining
weather but weather is weather regardless what we
say. Astrology is Astrology. We know very little
about astrology. Some say it is an ancient wisdom
berried in the past. Is the weather an ancient
system buried in the past or a daily
evolving now?

The
Zodiacal sign Virgo is said to be ruled by the
planet Mercury the same planet that rules Gemini.
Basically “rules” means that the zodiacal sign and
the ruling planet can be given the same meaning.
When you have one planet that rules more than one
Zodiacal sign this becomes difficult. It is hard to
say that Mercury is the same as both Virgo and
Gemini. The quick answer that is given is that
Mercury is a dualistic sign and one side rules
Gemini and the other side rules Virgo. There are
similarities between Gemini and Virgo namely they
are both Mutable or flexible signs. They both are in
the first half of the Zodiac. Where they both differ
is that Gemini is an air sign full of new ideas
while Virgo is an earth sign an accumulator of
facts. It is hard to rationalize that Mercury is the
same as both Gemini and Virgo.

If we are
going to say that it is difficult to rationalize
Mercury ruling both Virgo and Gemini then what is
the answer? What does Mercury rule? I believe that
it is very easy to make an argument that Mercury
rules Gemini. Mercury moves very fast like the mind
of Gemini. Mercury goes retrograde three times each
year allowing for the duality of the Gemini twins.
So where does that leave Virgo?
Virgo can be
fast but only if the facts line up. Virgo is not
dualistic usually what you see is what you get. In
recent years astrologers have come to pay more
attention to the band of asteroids between Mars and
Jupiter. This is mainly due to the fact that
astrologers now have accurate data on the positions
of the asteroids. Vesta, Pallas, Juno, Ceres, Hygeia,
Astraea are some that are tracked just like the
planets. Books have been written on their influence.
It may come to pass that common astrological thought
changes the rulership for Virgo from Mercury to the
Asteroids as a whole. There is a complexity to the
Asteroids just as there is a complexity to Virgo,
many parts that were once a whole. There is a
mystery to Virgo just as there is to the origins of
the Asteroid Belt.

Mercury is
not the only planet that rules two zodiacal signs.
Venus rules both Taurus and Libra. Again we have an
earth sign in Taurus and an air sign in Libra making
it hard to rationalize them both being similar to
Venus. Taurus and Venus are a good fit. Libra is too
much like its opposite sign Aries to be the same as
stable and stubborn Taurus. Since 1977 when the
Planet Chiron was discovered astrologers have been
giving meaning to its passages through space. It
seems to me that the best candidate for rulership of
Libra is Chiron. Chiron is considered to be a social
conscious planet and that in many ways is Libra. I
have observed in astrological charts that Chiron is
always present in groups, large gatherings, and
riots. Libra has an edge and like Aries who is
physically aggressive Libra is mentally aggressive.

It is easy
to suggest that we make changes to astrology. There
is history for change. In the past Mars ruled both
Aries and Scorpio. Now we have Pluto to rule
Scorpio. In the past Jupiter ruled Sagittarius and
Pisces. We now have Neptune to rule Pisces.
Astrology is a very complex and evolving science
just as life is very complex and evolving.

23, 2007 will be the Fall Equinox one of the four
Cardinal Points. The other three Cardinal Points are
the Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice and Winter
Solstice. They are called Cardinal Points as they
signify the entrance of the Sun into one of the
Zodiac Cardinal Signs. On September 23 the Sun will
be at 00Libra00 the entrance point of the Zodiacal
sign Libra. Libra is a Cardinal Air sign. Each of
the four Cardinal signs is the most assertive and
forward moving of all the Zodiacal signs. This is
the reason they start the Four Seasons. They are the
initiators. In life the Cardinal signs are the
initiators. The first initiator is Aries with the
Spring Equinox signifying the start of life as
nature awakes from a winter of sleep. Aries people
wake the world from its winter of sleep.

Cardinal Point starts a three month or three
Zodiacal sign period of evolution. A Cardinal sign
is always the first month, then a fixed sign for the
second month, then a mutable sign for the third
month. Then it starts all over again with a new
Cardinal sign and a new season of life. The key
significance to cardinal signs is starting. The
people with a Cardinal sign are always starting
things sometimes so small that they are not always
obvious, at other times in a very dramatic way as
they take the lead. The Cardinal signs of Cancer and
Capricorn are respectively the Mother and Father
figures of the Zodiac.

Libra is the
Cardinal sign for the Fall Equinox. Libra to me is
best viewed in the female. With the female Libra we
see the social leader who is the woman who holds a
position of authority in the man’s world. The Libra
woman will be the one when there is only one female
executive. She will strive to a position of
management. When there is a group of women in the
work place she will be the leader, often in a very
off handed and unique way. She asserts her will
through the consensus of those around her. The male
Libra is no less a leader than the female. He also
seeks consensus through asking opinions then bending
those opinions to fit his line of thought. The Libra
will be the first to speak out when they have
decided that something must be said.

I
have said before that Libra is one of the
Zodiacal signs that has a shared ruler in Venus.
If we are to say the Libra is the social
conscience of the world. And we go further and
say that Chiron is the social voice of the
masses then it is not such a large leap to have
Libra ruled by Chiron. Chiron is interesting
watching especially the role it plays in stating
in a very assertive voice the social position of
the crowd.

talked about the politics that are going on in
Pakistan (Astrology Blog September 2, 2007) and now
Burma is front and center. Both Burma and Pakistan
have one thing in common in that they both have a
major female political player who is a Gemini.
Pakistan has

Benazir Bhutto, June 21, 1953, 7:59 PM, Karachi ,
Pakistan , Leader of the opposition Pakistan
People’s Party and Burma has Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi,
June 19, 1945, (time unknown) Rangoon , Burma . Yes
Bhutto is close to a Cancer Cusp but each has
additional Gemini influence Bhutto has Jupiter in
Gemini and Aung San has Uranus in Gemini. Both
ladies have a Libra Moon (see astrology Blog
September 22, 23, 24, 2007 for more on Libra and
female leadership).

Gemini’s
will be affected by the upcoming Mercury Retrograde
October 11, 2007 to November 1, 2007. Benazir Bhutto
has said she will return to Pakistan from exile on
October 18, 2007. Due to the Mercury Retrograde this
is not a good time to return (it may be delayed or
changed). She would be better to wait until after
November 1, 2007 when there would be less animosity
and rehashing of the past. Aung San is in exile of a
sort (house arrest) and although no news is coming
out of Burma as to what role she is playing in
today’s unrest she should be front and center as the
Mercury Retrograde runs its course.

Mercury will
on October 11, 2007 at 08Scorpio58 be Stationary
Retrograde and will on November 1, 2007 at 23Libra23
be Stationary Direct. Benazir Bhutto has her Moon at
23Libra22 and this should be of great benefit to
her. Without a birth time Aung San it is hard to say
what role the Stationary Direct Mercury in Libra
will have but it will be beneficial for Libra so
should also be beneficial for Aung San. A Mercury
Retrograde period can be best summed up as a time
when there will be unknowns thus it is best to wait
for the Direct Mercury period when all will be
known. To go further an unknown leads to
misinformation thus making the Mercury Retrograde
period hard to rely upon.
